For the preparation of a Sage infusion, use 1 grams of Sage per 100 ml. of water.
With higher concentrations, 4 grams per 100 ml., you can prepare an infusion for external use for the skin or for rinsing and gargles.
You can use the fresh leaves by rubbing on the teeth in order to clean them and purify the breath.
You can also freeze Sage into small cubes and put one of these in your mouth to relieve sore teeth and gums.
How can you prepare a Sage infusion?
• pour 1 cup of boiling water over three fresh Sage leaves or a tablespoon of dried Sage and leave to infuse for 10 minutes, filter and, if desired, add honey and lemon
• you can drink the infusion or gargle, in case of gum problems and canker sores.
ATTENTION
Keep in mind that Sage leaves can interfere with some drugs, such as those used for the treatment of epilepsy, diabetes and even some antidepressants or sleeping pills, thus leading to drowsiness or excessive numbness. In all these cases, therefore, consult your doctor.
